End of Life Services
Supporting people through living with illness and dying
- Identifying “best life possible” goals, creating legacy projects*, reviewing the life, mending relationships, creating a vigil plan, including who should and should not be present
- Support visits: help with legacy projects, Reiki for relaxation and pain control, aromatherapy, coordinating with the hospice team, if there is one
- Carrying out the vigil, supporting dying person and family and friends who visit
- Supporting partners and families during loved one’s illness and death
- Calling more distant friends and family to notify them of the death
- Grief support, personal ritual for the ones left behind
- After-death support for extended family and community
- Officiating memorials for the extended family and community. May include contacting close family and friends to see if they would like to speak
- May include help with planning the program
* Legacy projects are memorial projects compiled for the loved ones who will be left behind. Examples include: photos and captions made into a book that captures the life’s story, or a recipe collection, maybe with short vignettes about where each recipe came from. Legacy projects capture the essence of the life lived, provide structure for life review, and produce something meaningful by which generations will have a glimpse into a person’s life.
Another service I offer is holding space for the person who is dying and their family. I include the dying person and their family as part of my daily meditation, and stay tuned to them energetically during my waking hours. Distance Reiki can be added.
I recently held space for a team of doulas serving a client. The lead Doula said, “I can really feel your intentions. Asking for your energetic support was the smartest preparation I’ve done for this journey... Thank you from my whole heart
